What iplicit’s latest record-breaking year means for you

A growth rate of more than 100%. Thirty-one events attended. An expanded “all-star” C-suite. It’s certainly been quite a year for iplicit.

That’s all very nice for us, but what does it mean for our customers?

Well, all these things have sprung from our efforts to build not just a customer base but a legion of raving iplicit fans.

Here’s a round-up of iplicit’s incredible 2024 and what it means for finance teams and accountants in practice.

Record Breaking Year 2024

We increased customer numbers, revenue and staff

By whatever yardstick you might use, iplicit is growing fast. We’ve been adding customers and revenue by triple-digit percentages each year since the software was launched into the market in 2019.

We’re closing 2024 with over 30,000 users in over 2,000 organisations regularly logging on to iplicit. Recent customers include such well-known names as London Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, The Tank Museum and Beaulieu Enterprises

Our hypergrowth was recognised in 2024 when iplicit was ranked 18th among UK companies on the FT1000 list of Europe’s fastest-growing businesses. Later in the year, we found ourselves on the Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50 list of hypergrowth firms, based on growth of 742% between 2021 and 2024.

In our industry, that kind of growth isn’t produced by hype. FDs, CFOs and accountants are smarter than that. It comes from having a product that can liberate tens of thousands of customers who were previously saddled with old-fashioned, on-premises software, or with entry-level cloud systems.

The accolades kept coming

iplicit is going to need a bigger trophy cabinet. Our achievements this year included:

  • That Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50 listing, at number 40
  • Our FT1000 ranking (number 18 in the UK, 103rd in Europe)
  • Being named Tech Company of the Year at the National MAT Awards, just a year after launching into the school multi-academy trusts sector
  • Government recognition with a listing on the G-Cloud 14 framework, a digital marketplace that puts us in front of public sector bodies and charities as a vetted supplier
  • A top 10 ranking among medium-sized businesses in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work. As a mainly remote employer which places a high value on culture and togetherness, we’re particularly pleased with that one.

We went to a record-breaking 31 events

We love showing people iplicit. Unlike some vendors, we’ll let you see it straight away – and we especially like demonstrating it in person.

This year, we did so at no fewer than 31 events – including Accountex London and Manchester, the Digital Accountancy Show, Sifted Summit and itSHOWCASE, with the iplicit for Education team at the CST Annual Conference, the Schools and Academies Show, BETT and MATPN Finance.

If you haven’t already encountered iplicit in person, take a look at the events we’ll be attending in 2025.

We kept our customers satisfied

Customer reviews continue to be overwhelmingly positive, while our portfolio of customer case studies shows iplicit proving transformational for businesses and nonprofits alike.

Our product and engineering teams delivered five major releases in 2024, along with 24 minor releases, 49 patch releases and 74 service releases. We achieved 100% compliance with our goals for RTOs and RPOs (recovery time and recovery point objectives).

We introduced 15 new main features and 1,173 product changes, with a change failure rate of under 0.8%.

iplicit now integrates with even more third-party applications, through our public APIs, platforms such as Zapier and Besyncly and our own “out of the box” integrations – now including the Student Expenses app created for students’ unions by Konnekt365.

Every integration reduces work for the user, ensuring that data flows smoothly from one system to another, with less need for human intervention. That makes much simpler work of everyday accounting tasks, from bank reconciliation to expenses management. What’s more, it prevents information being held in silos, out of view of the finance team.

We added to our all-star team

Growing fast but sustainably requires the best leadership talent.

This year saw iplicit strengthening an impressive C-suite with three big appointments: Damon Anderson as CMO, Paul Sparkes as CPO and Scott Regnier as CSO.

Two titans of the European fintech industry – Øystein Moan and Nic Humphries – joined as investors, with Øystein becoming a Non-Executive Director and Nic a Strategic Advisor.

For the customer, these announcements are confirmation that iplicit’s development is in very capable hands – and that the business is inspiring confidence among the people who know the industry best.

But it’s not just about the senior leadership. iplicit has been growing in areas such as customer success and technical support to keep up with demand. Headcount has increased from 90 last year to 150 at the end of 2024, with more people already set to join in early 2025.

We forged new links with partners

Partnerships will be key to iplicit’s continued growth – and we’re forging more of them. We onboarded more than 100 customers through our partner network in 2024 and that number will grow next year.

Our growing accountancy partnership channel, headed by Matt Lewns, has benefited from the insights of some of the brightest minds in UK accountancy. They joined the invitation-only iplicit Advisory Council for Accountants to share their insights and enjoy information from the inside track about iplicit’s growth and product plans.

Meanwhile, our channel reseller programme, under industry expert Paula Cooper, is growing, enlisting first-class resellers and MSPs such as Eureka Solutions, SoMax Finance, Minerva IT Support and 4GL Concepts

We gave something back

The iplicit team likes to give back to our communities – as you might expect, in view of the large number of charities that are among our customers.

iplicit continues to give £1 to the NHS’s Blood and Transplant Service each time a member of staff donates a pint of blood. And six of the team achieved something remarkable in 2024, scaling the highest points in England, Scotland and Wales in the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Looking ahead

iplicit has some big plans for 2025 – and they’re all based on making life less complicated for finance teams and accountants.

With constant investment in the product and in customer success and support, our mission is all about delighting our customers by making the complex simple.

To see why iplicit is the talk of its industry, why not get in touch for a demonstration and see the software for yourself?

How it all works

iplicit’s architecture is quite special; it’s true cloud and only in the browser, but it looks and feels like a desktop application. No layer upon layer of tabs opening and probably the most intuitive navigation that you will find in the marketplace today. Take a look for yourself.
