‘Another string to our bow’: iplicit signs 4GL Concepts as partner

4GL Concepts explored iplicit after looking for a system for customers who needed to move to a fully web-based accounting product with shorter deployment times than some existing solutions and one it could offer to clients in Gibraltar, the UK and much further afield.

The business operates in Gibraltar and London but also has customers in Spain and other EU countries, as well as some further afield including Mauritius and Singapore.

Robin Fitzpatrick, Partner at 4GL Concepts, said: “For the past few years, we’ve been looking at adding a fully web-based product to our portfolio to fill a gap that we were unable to fill with some current solutions. It means that instead of losing these clients we now have the opportunity to plug that gap and iplicit provided the ideal solution.

“It’s another string to our bow that now enables us to offer a full range of best-in-class cloud and on-premises solutions.”

4GL Concepts has been a software partner for more than two decades and will continue to provide its current solutions. It will now also offer iplicit to those clients that need a cloud accounting system but that perhaps don’t have the budget for some existing solutions.

“We’ll continue to offer our current products, but this gives us a lot more flexibility in what we’re able to provide,” said Robin.

“Instead of maintaining their own on-premises or cloud based servers, and the heavy costs involved in that, our clients will have a completely cloud-based product available to them.”

iplicit came to Robin’s attention through another reseller partner.

“We had looked at products like QuickBooks and Xero but their vendors only supply through accountants and the products weren’t really the right fit for the kind of clients we’re dealing with,” said Robin.

“Then we came upon iplicit via a contact of mine. I looked into it and realised it was exactly what we’d been looking for.

“It had quicker deployment times, which suits our size of business, was multijurisdictional, which is important to us because it’s something that a number of our clients require. It already links with several currency providers via API to provide exchange rate updates, amongst other great features.

“An increasing number of clients also want all their legal entities to be contained inside one database rather than have to open and close different entities in the software, whereas with iplicit you’re dealing with one unified system for all a group’s entities, meaning you can also report in various currencies.

“iplicit offered easier consolidation and very flexible financial analysis and being fully web-based makes it a great alternative to remote access systems. That’s hugely important.”

He added: “There have been some opportunities in the past that we missed out on for lack of the advantages that iplicit can offer.

“We want a continuing relationship with our clients, one that benefits us both, and we want to be the partner that provides the solution for their needs. We feel that iplicit along with our current solutions, gives us that opportunity”

Robin says 4GL Concepts is enjoying full support from iplicit.

“It’s great. As a new partner, we feel very supported,” he said.

“We’re getting accredited as iplicit partners, we’ve been provided with marketing support, and we’ve had in-depth talks about the product. Additionally, for any early client sign-ups, iplicit is going to do the implementation and we’re going to shadow them, which will be a great way of onboarding those clients.”
