Eureka Solutions and iplicit unite to offer businesses real choice in accounting systems

With 20 years of experience in providing and implementing business software, Eureka Solutions knew there was something missing in the market when it came to finance systems. 

Eureka Solutions took the strategic decision to partner with iplicit in 2023 with the aim of bringing more choice in accounting software to the mid-market. In this blog we hear from Eureka Solutions’ Senior teamDavid Lindores, CEO; Gillian Livingstone, CFO; and Alan Miles, Commercial Director—on why they selected iplicit and what they expect this powerful partnership can do for businesses in this bracket.

“We’d identified a space where customers using entry-level accounting systems like Xero or legacy on-premises products needed to step up to a larger finance system but found the cost of enterprise ERPs to be prohibitive,” says David.

East Kilbride-based Eureka Solutions celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2024 and has been an iplicit reseller for a little over one year. With a strong customer-first philosophy, the company focuses on understanding client needs, offering tailored solutions, and providing ongoing support.  

Its cloud-based integration platform, Besyncly, is developed in-house and complements iplicit by enabling connectivity between various business systems, enhancing operational efficiency and data accuracy. 

“We’re a business solutions provider, specialising in implementing business systems for the midmarket,” says David. 

“Our expertise lies in truly understanding customer requirements, guiding clients towards the best finance or ERP system for their business, carrying out the bespoke implementation and providing ongoing support over the long term,” says David. 

 “We have customers across most industries but have a growing reputation in software and services, wholesale and distribution, not-for-profit, as well as becoming the go-to implementation specialist for life sciences, hospitality and leisure. We have approximately 3,000 support contracts, 1,000 unique customers and around 250 ERP customers.

‘iplicit stood out as a natural, affordable choice’ 

Thanks to its many years in the industry, Eureka Solutions was perfectly positioned to see the need for something new in the marketplace.  

Gillian Livingstone - Eureka  (1)“We originally worked only with Sage 200 but as technology changed, we started to look at other products and offerings,” says COO Gillian Livingstone.

“We partnered with NetSuite in 2012 when adoption of cloud ERP solutions was still in its early days, but as the cloud industry started to grow, we realised there was something missing. We wanted a cloud offering that suited the midmarket and had scalability built in to provide a strong foundation for customers to grow. 

“Xero and the likes are very popular, but we were seeing businesses outgrow these smaller systems and there wasn’t an obvious step for them to progress to. iplicit stood out as a natural, affordable choice for growing businesses,” adds David. 

“It felt complementary to our existing products and, strategically, it fitted into the gap we’d identified. We were also excited to team up with iplicit at such an early stage in the roll-out of its partner programme. 

Alan Miles, Commercial Director, adds: “We were blown away with the functionality [of iplicit]; it was far more advanced than we thought possible at the price point.  

“If you’re looking for a straightforward accounting solution that includes purchasing and can cover fixed assets, revenue recognition, project accounting, and fund reporting at a realistic price point, iplicit is the natural choice.   

David adds: “The speed of implementation was also a big factor for us. With larger ERP solutions, it can take 50-100 days to implement over several months, whereas you can implement iplicit in 15-20 days—customers can get up and running in an incredibly short time. 

‘It’s been a strong relationship from the get-go’ 

“From the start, it was clear that iplicit wanted the partner channel to succeed and it has invested heavily to achieve that,” says David. 

“From our first sale, the pre-sales team at iplicit worked closely with our team to make sure we could deliver the right solution for the customer.”  

Gillian adds: “From a technical point of view, it’s been very straightforward. iplicit was good at coaching until we’d completed a number of sites and were able to fully deliver the product ourselves.” 

David Lindores - Eureka David says: “The technical programme has been excellent. iplicit worked closely with our technical team, making sure we had all the training we needed. The people are very receptive to feedback, both from our team and from prospects and existing customers and are willing to extend the product roadmap to meet those needs. It’s been a collaborative relationship from the get-go.”

Eureka Solutions’ integration platform, Besyncly, is a natural add-on for iplicit. 

David says: “Besyncly is an API-driven platform that allows us to create connectors for any system or platform with a cloud-based API so that our customers can seamlessly connect all their business systems. It acts as a bridge between systems, synchronising data to create a smooth and uninterrupted flow of information that removes the need for manual processes.   

“We’ve now integrated Besyncly directly with iplicit and hope to grow our partner channel alongside them.”  

‘There’s a huge opportunity out there’ 

Alan Miles - Eureka “The number of businesses that could benefit from iplicit is considerable,” says Alan. 

“Many are on legacy systems and will need to look to the cloud. They’re growing, becoming more complex in terms of their offering, and will need to move to the next level of finance system. 

“Due to this, iplicit has a huge opportunity for growth, especially in certain industries like nonprofit, education and technology where it is the ideal solution.” 

David believes that Eureka Solutions and iplicit share similar values. 

“Both businesses care deeply about getting the right solution for their customers and I think this is why our customer retention rates are so similar.”
