In an article for Charity Finance, Darren Tiffney, Director of Finance and Central Services at the trust, has told how iplicit is at the heart of their digital transformation.
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust takes care of some of the most spectacularly beautiful places in Britain. Looking after the historic county’s wildlife and wild spaces, with more than 100 nature reserves, is a big and complex business. Turnover at the trust has risen from £5m in 2016 to £13m this year and the charity has important relationships with a host of government and commercial partners.
In the article for Charity Finance, Darren Tiffney, Director of Finance and Central Services at the trust, explains how the accounting function is leading the way in a digital transformation at the organisation – with iplicit's charity and nonprofit accounting software at the heart of the operation.
He tells how the trust needed a cloud-based finance system that could keep up with its growing scale and complexity – as well as allowing staff to process transactions when they were, literally, in the field.
“In the world of work – maybe because of time and we’re creatures of habit – people often just accept the way things are. I like to find ways in which we can also be more efficient,” he says.
“Finance has been the first part of our digital journey and it will continue to evolve.”
