The world of finance is on high alert as ‘missing data’ cases continue to pour in from across the country. Distraught accounts teams have been scouring their organisations for data that has apparently vanished into thin air.
Heads of finance are being warned not to let vital numbers out of their sight.
Head of Finance, Anne Accountant said: “I first noticed some of my data was missing when I went to put together the monthly management packs as normal.
“I scoured our desks and email inboxes and asked everybody I could think of, but nobody could recall seeing it.
“I can’t believe a number this big could just vanish with nobody noticing. We’ve had data disappear before but it’s worrying when a board meeting is approaching and our MD is tearing his hair out with worry.”
