One hard-working person will be named a “deity” of the digital accounting world thanks to iplicit.

iplicit is sponsoring a hotly contested individual title at the Digital Disruptor Awards this month.

The Digital Disruptor Deity prize will go to an individual “recognised for ‘lifetime’ service to the digital accountancy space”.

The awards will take place at Impossible Manchester on Monday, 16 September, and will be live streamed. Nominations have closed.

Matt Lewns, Partner Manager at iplicit, said: “iplicit was happy to have the opportunity to recognise a leading light in digital accounting.

“This was a perfect match for us because iplicit is a digital disruptor itself. It was launched to challenge the incumbents and provide an affordable route to true-cloud accounting for tens of thousands of organisations stuck with on-premises systems or entry-level cloud software. It is shaking up its industry in a similar fashion to the way Netflix disrupted a world dominated by Blockbuster.

“Through our accountancy partner channel, we’re enabling accountancy practices to better serve those valuable midmarket clients. Practices are able to continue their relationships with some of their most ambitious customers rather than risk losing them as they grow – at the same time as opening up new avenues for continuing revenue.”

The judges of the Digital Disruptor Awards are a panel of industry luminaries from the likes of Accountex, Silverfin, Farnell Clark, flinder, Kreston Reeves, Pixie, Bankable and Xero.

iplicit has a fairly full trophy cabinet itself. It has been named Best Mid-Market and Enterprise Software at the Accounting Excellence Awards; Enterprise Accounting/ERP System of the Year at the AccountingWEB Best Products Awards; and FinTech of the Year at the Tech South West Awards.

It was ranked 18th among UK companies in the 2024 FT1000 list of Europe’s fastest-growing businesses. It also earned a top 10 place among the Sunday Times Best Places to Work.

Digital Disruptors was founded to give an honest view of which accounting apps work and to support people in implementing them successfully.
