December 2nd, London. iplicit, a leading provider of true cloud accounting software, has been acknowledged as the UK’s Best Mid-Market & Enterprise Accounting Software at the Annual Accounting Excellence Awards.
Achieving the win in an unprecedented 23 months since the launch of the software, iplicit’s ascendence has been noted as nothing short of ‘remarkable’.
Receiving the Award (virtually), on behalf of the entire team, Rob Steele, CEO states ‘When starting out on this journey to disrupt the market with a true cloud solution, to rival the most established of players, we knew we had a sizable mountain to climb. But, to be recognised as Best in Class in under 2 years from launch, from a survey of over 4,000 customers; that’s truly David and Goliath stuff! We are truly humbled to receive this accolade and would like to thank every single customer who took the leap of faith to bet on a new entrant in finance software market. We strive, on a daily basis, to make sure we repay their belief in us, with an innovative, exciting and reliable service.’
Founder and CTO, Ian Andrews adds ‘This award represents one of the proudest moments of my long career. iplicit is the result of 30 years of insight and learnings from the implementation and training other Enterprise ERP solutions. Combining this experience with that of the sizable commercial team, assembled by Rob Steele and Paul Sparkes, our goal was always to build a solution that could deliver a comprehensive suite of functionality, without being overly complex or difficult to install.’
Accounting Web’s Editorial Director, Mike Goldsmith concluded “What better way to gain a reputation in the marketplace than by winning an Accounting Excellence Software Award in your second year of commercial sales? That’s the achievement of this year’s Mid-Market and Enterprise Accounting Software of the Year, iplicit. Having cut their teeth with the Windows-based Exchequer system, the iplicit founders may have had a head start. But coming out victorious after going head-to-head with industry giants including previous winner AccountsIQ and Sage 50cloud, Pegasus and Xledger is a remarkable achievement.”
With over 2000 users and 300 organisations now using the iplicit platform, 2021 looks set to see continued growth in the UK, from this relative newcomer, coupled with an increasing international presence.
The original Founders of Exchequer Software (Rob Steele and Eduardo Loigorri) and their team disrupted the market when they first brought a 32Bit Windows system to a predominantly DOS based market-place. The result was a successful run for twenty years before being acquired by IRIS Software in 2005.
Several years later, that same team met with Concept Software (Ian Andrews and Brian Weaving), one of the UK’s leading ERP implementation consultants with 25 years’ experience in design, installation and training of complex ERP solutions from the likes of Agresso, SAP and Oracle. Between the two teams, they architected an accounting solution to disrupt the market and challenged the status quo. The result was iplicit, a true-cloud accounting solution, designed specifically for the mid-market. For companies that are too big for the likes of Xero and Quickbooks yet without the need for the cost or complexity of Netsuite or MS Dynamics.
After 5 years of development, iplicit launched in Jan 2019 and, in the first 18 months, facilitated over 300 organisations to take advantage of its true-cloud platform. Today, it represents a powerful alternative for thousands of UK businesses and non-profit organisations, struggling with outdated server-based on-premise solutions, yet requiring extensive reporting, configurable workflows and authorisation functionality, and seamless integration with other cloud-based systems.
