A year of highlights: Our 2021 round-up

2021 was another whirlwind of a year, and for iplicit it was our best yet! So, as we leave a successful 12 months behind, we didn’t want to let an opportunity to celebrate our achievements – big or small – pass us by.

So, without further ado, here’s a selection of our team’s highlights – personal, professional and everything in between…

Welcoming new members to our team

Our once small team has now grown by 77% — taking our headcount to 28! That’s plenty of fresh faces, and an extra injection of fantastic talent, to make our days even brighter. And with plans to add a further 50 staff in the next 18 months, exciting times are ahead.

Attending our first exhibition

Not only did we take iplicit on the road for the very first time — making our exhibition debut at AccountingWEB Live Expo — but we also brought with us an extra little surprise in the form of a certain new feature launch…

Launching an exciting new stock module

Following over £1 million of investment and almost two years in development, our latest innovation — a stock and inventory management feature — finally launched. Helping organisations to combine their accounting and stock control functions, it’s a long-awaited addition and one which is sure to be the answer finance professionals have been searching for.

This was in addition to a series of updates throughout the year including a new price band feature which allows customers to pre-determine prices for particular clients or suppliers, automated currency rates with live updates of exchange rates, dashboards – via iplicit’s mobile app – to better understand KPIs, and new integrations with HMRC to ensure making tax digital submissions are even more efficient.

Meeting our revenue targets

Having set some ambitious targets in 2021 — including attracting more than 5,000 daily users to our platform and continuing with a forward momentum which enables over 100% growth year-on-year (YOY), we are thrilled to say that we achieved both. In fact, we increased our YOY revenue by 162% and are now working our way towards a series of new and exciting goals for 2022 such as providing our software to 2,000 organisations and adding over 10,000 users to the platform – with the aim of reaching a total of 60,000 daily users by 2025.

Expanding our customer base

In the year that just kept on giving, we welcomed a selection of fantastic new clients to our roster.

From charity and travel, healthcare to housing, and everything in between – we’re now working with 350 superb organisations across a variety of sectors including charities and not for profit, accountants, wholesale, distribution and manufacturing, plus many more.

Opening the doors to a further office

Our latest base in Bournemouth houses our wonderful customer services team, who are ready and poised to deliver market-leading support to clients old and new.

Joining our existing London and Dublin presence, this marks another exciting milestone in our journey.

Spotting some familiar faces in the press

Celebrating team iplicit’s achievements and sharing their wealth of knowledge in the accounting technology sector, many of our industry spokespeople have provided their expertise throughout the regional, national, trade and sector-specific press.

From finding out what a typical working day includes for our commercial director, Paul Sparkes in Business Leader and celebrating the news of the launch of our stock control module in Accountancy Today, to looking at the future of accounting software with ITProPortal and marking our business growth with Accounting Web Live — during 2021 the world got to know a little more about iplicit, and our leaders, too.

Enjoying our fair share of team outings

From escape rooms to days at the beach, team iplicit has certainly made a splash – building brilliant bonds, and some hilarious memories, with the odd mishap thrown in for good measure. Let’s just say ice skating might be off the agenda for a year or two…

And there was even a big proposal!

The year came to a close with some extra-special news, as Paul Sparkes made a proposal of his own.

Along with buying a hat, we have some even more exciting plans in place for 2022. We’re in no doubt that it’ll be an eventful and truly extraordinary year, as our true cloud accounting software reaches new heights.

And one thing’s for sure, with such a fantastic team in place, it’s already on course to be another year for the record books — watch this space!

How it all works

iplicit’s architecture is quite special; it’s true cloud and only in the browser, but it looks and feels like a desktop application. No layer upon layer of tabs opening and probably the most intuitive navigation that you will find in the marketplace today. Take a look for yourself.
